You Are a Geologist is an educational game that places you in the role of a field geologist exploring the ancient sequoia groves of California's Sierra Nevada. Investigate rocks, soils, streams, and the underground critical zone — the thin layer of weathered rock where water, minerals, and life intersect.
The scientific content in this app is based on real critical zone research conducted in the Sierra Nevada. The critical zone is the Earth's living skin — from the tops of trees to the bottom of groundwater — and is where most of Earth's terrestrial life depends for nutrients, water, and stability.
